What is an etanercept injection?

Etanercept Injection is a medicine that lowers the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), such as joint swelling, discomfort, exhaustion, and the length of morning stiffness. Psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and juvenile idiopathic arthritis are among the conditions for which it is recommended.

How do you take etanercept?

Etanercept is injected beneath the skin (under the skin). Once a week, it is normally injected. When etanercept injection is used to treat persistent plaque psoriasis, it is usually given twice a week for the first three months and then once a week after that.

What is a side effect of Etanercept Injection?

The injection site may experience redness, irritation, discomfort, or swelling. This often begins 1-2 days after the injection and lasts 3-5 days. After the first month, injection site responses normally subside. It’s also possible that you’ll get a headache.

How do you give an etanercept injection?

Insert the Enbrel MiniTM cartridge into the AutoTouchTM reusable autoinjector by pressing the door button. It should slide into the door smoothly and completely. Select a body part for injection (eg, thigh, abdomen or stomach area, or upper arm). When you’re ready to inject, remove the needle cap.
