What is Paclitaxel 260mg Injection Napro-Tax used for?

Paclitaxel 260mg Injection Napro-Tax (in conjunction with polyoxyethylated castor oil) is used to treat breast cancer, ovarian cancer (cancer that develops in the female reproductive organs where eggs are produced), and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

Is paclitaxel given as a shot?

The injection of paclitaxel is used to treat advanced ovarian cancer, breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, and Kaposi sarcoma. Kaposi sarcoma is a skin and mucous membrane cancer that is frequently observed in people who have acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).

How effective is paclitaxel?

Nonetheless, single-agent therapy with weekly paclitaxel has obtained response rates of up to 86 percent, combination therapy has achieved response rates of up to 87 percent, and radiation has achieved response rates of up to 100 percent.

How do you feel now that you’ve had paclitaxel?

During or immediately after therapy, you may experience a minor allergic reaction to paclitaxel. This can result in irritation, a rash, or a flushed face. A severe allergic reaction is quite rare. Breathlessness, swelling of the cheeks and lips, and dizziness are all symptoms.

What are the paclitaxel side effects?

It is possible to experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, mouth sores, muscle/joint discomfort, numbness/tingling/burning of the hands/feet, flushing, dizziness, or drowsiness. If any of these adverse effects persist or worsen, contact your doctor right once. It’s possible that you’ll lose some hair temporarily. Normal hair growth should continue after the operation.

Is paclitaxel associated with weight gain?

There is also evidence of weight increase after a breast cancer diagnosis, which is mostly related to the dramatic decrease in physical activity that occurs after a cancer diagnosis.
