The medicine CETRIMIDE+Gamma Benzene Hydrochloride 100ml which comprises Cetrimide and Gamma Benzene Hexachloride (Lindane), is a topical antiseptic and is generally used to treat cuts, wounds, and mild burns as well as to prevent infection.

Adult: As 1% or 2% lotion, or 0.5%, 1%, or 0.5% cetrimide cream: Apply liberally as needed to the afflicted area(s). As a 0.5% spray solution of cetrimide: 2-3 times per day, spray the afflicted area(s). Incompatible with soaps, bentonite, iodine, phenylmercuric nitrate, and alkali hydroxides. Incompatible with anionic surfactants. Hypersensitivity.

In two smaller trials, permethrin seemed to outperform gamma benzene hexachloride in terms of clinical cure rates, but Gamma Benzene Hydrochloride 100ml offered no benefit in the largest trial (test for heterogeneity, p = 0.001). Gamma benzene hexachloride did not seem to be as good at reducing itch persistence as permethrin did.

CETRIMIDE should only be used externally. Avoid getting CETRIMIDE near your mouth, nose, ears, or eyes. Rinse these places off completely with water if CETRIMIDE accidently comes into contact with them. Before using CETRIMIDE, please let your doctor know if you are pregnant or nursing.
