Adrenaline Bitartrate Injection The heart is stimulated, the gastrointestinal tract is relaxed, the alpha and beta adrenergic systems are stimulated, and the bronchi and brain arteries are dilated. It is used to delay the absorption of local anesthetics and in the treatment of cardiac failure and asthma.

Each adrenaline ampoule has a 1 mg (1000 micrograms). Adrenaline 1:1000 contains 1 mg (1000 micrograms) per millilitre, whereas adrenaline 1:10 000 contains 1 mg (100 micrograms) per liter.

Intravenous adrenaline can result in life-threatening hypertension, tachycardia, arrhythmias, and myocardial ischemia when used to treat allergies and other conditions in patients with spontaneous circulation. In patients who are elderly, adrenaline should be utilized with caution.

• When receiving emergency medical care following an epinephrine injection
• inform your doctor if you experience any of the following side effects:

• having trouble breathing
• rapid, hammering, or erratic heartbeat.
• nausea.
• vomiting.
• sweating.
• dizziness.
