Casirivimab and imdevimab uses:

Casirivimab and imdevimab injections are available as a solution (liquid) that must be combined with liquid before being infused (slowly injected) into a vein by a doctor or nurse for 20 to 50 minutes or longer. It can also be given subcutaneously (under the skin) as numerous separate injections around the same time in your tummy, upper thighs, or back of your upper arms.

What is casirivimab and imdevimab?

Casirivimab and imdevimab are investigational drugs being tested for the treatment of coronavirus-related illnesses. Casirivimab and imdevimab are not yet known to be safe and effective.

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the use of casirivimab and imdevimab in patients who test positive for COVID-19 as an emergency treatment for COVID-19 symptoms that could lead to hospitalization or death.

How is casirivimab and imdevimab given?

A healthcare provider injects this injection under the skin or into a vein.

This injection is injected into a vein slowly over 20 to 50 minutes or longer. This injection is injected under the skin in 2 to 4 sequential injections into different parts of the body.

After the injection, you will be monitored for a brief period of time to ensure that you do not have an allergic reaction.
