Cefuroxime Injection 1500mg (infection of the membranes encasing the brain and spinal cord), gonorrhoea (a sexually transmitted disease), pneumonia, other lower respiratory tract (lung) infections, skin, blood, bone, joint, and urine infections are among the infections that are treated with cefuroxime injection.

To prepare the solution for injection, each 1.5-gram vial should be filled with 16.0 mL of sterile water for injection. Each 8 mL of the resulting solution contains 750 mg of cefuroxime, which should be dissolved in 77 mL of sterile water for injection before adding it to the 7.5-gram pharmacy bulk vial.

Cefuroxime should be supplied by deep intramuscular injection, drip tube, infusion over 30 to 60 minutes, or intravenous injection over a period of 3 to 5 minutes directly into a vein.
