Head lice infections are treated with 1% Permethrin Soap lotion. It works by obliterating the eggs as well as the lice. By eliminating the mites that cause scabies, the 5% cream is used to treat scabies infections.

The FDA has approved Soap lotion 1% for the treatment of head lice. When used as indicated, Soap is both secure and efficient. Soap kills live lice but not their unhatched eggs. Soap may continue to eliminate newly emerging lice for a few days after treatment.

Soap can cause irritation, tingling, burning, and itching when it comes into contact with the skin. Soap can burn, sting, or produce redness in the eyes if it gets in there. Soap may result in nausea, vomiting, a sore throat, and stomach pain if consumed by humans.
