What is the purpose of bortezomib injection?

The medication bortezomib is used to treat multiple myeloma (a type of cancer of the bone marrow). What is the best way to dilute bortezomib injection?

2.5 mg/ml Myezom After diluting the Solution for Injection to 1 mg/ml (see section 6.6), it is given as a 3-5 second bolus intravenous injection by a peripheral or central intravenous catheter, followed by a flush with sodium chloride 9 mg/ml (0.9 per cent) solution for injection.

How many Myezom cycles are there?

A therapy cycle is defined as a three-week period. – Between consecutive bortezomib doses, a minimum of 72 hours should pass. – Two further cycles (for a total of eight cycles) are indicated for individuals who had a response at cycle 6.
