Ampicillin injection belongs to the class of medications known as penicillins.
How do you give ampicillin?
To the 500mg vial contents, add 1.5 ml water for injections. For injections, dissolve 500 mg in 10 mL of water. Slow injection should be used (three to four minutes). Ampicillin can also be mixed into infusion fluids or injected, diluted, into the drip tube over three to four minutes.
